About Johnstons of Elgin
Established on the banks of the river Lossie over two centuries ago, when Alexander Johnston founded Johnstons of Elgin, he also founded a legacy of fine craftmenship and exquisite fabric production.
Today with over two hundred years of tradition and expertise behind them in textile manufacturing, Johnston and Elgin believes that luxury begins with outstanding craftsmanship. That’s why all their woven and knitted products are lovingly produced by devoted craftspeople, some of whom have been honing their skills with the company for over 50 year. Making every stitch, every twist of thread, rooted in a history that has been passed down through generations to ensure that these timeless techniques are preserved and represented in every product that they make today.
Using only the highest quality, natural fibers, Johnston of Elgin is the only manufacturer in Scotland that still maintains the capability to take natural fivers from their raw state, through every stage of the process and finally into a perfectly finished end product. From dyeing, to blending, carding and spinning, to warping and weaving to knitting then finally finishing and folding, Their expert craftsmen and women take pride in every thread, every yarn and every stitch.
And it is this intense dedication, patience and love for their centuries old craft that now has them leading the world in cashmere and woolens, having been awarded the royal warrant of appointment as manufacturers of estate tweed H.R.H. The Prince Of Wales, Duke of Rothesay.
Roosevelt & Co. is proud to now be bringing this centuries old legacy to the men of Huntsville!
