Fine Leather Boots & Shoes
ABOUT PETER NAPPI
Peter Nappi was born of Phillip Nappi’s personal passion for boots, heritage, and artisan craftsmanship. It was only after he set out to make his dream company a reality that he discovered his grandfather, whom he’d never met, had been a shoemaker in Italy before emigrating to America in 1904. One hundred years later, the Nappi family is honored to revive Pietro’s vision, sharing his dedication and craft with a new generation. Our leather boots and shoes are all handmade in Italy and named for the people and places we love.
Designed in Nashville and handmade in Tuscany, Peter Nappi premium leather footwear and goods are a distinctive blend of Italian heritage and American personality. We believe authentic character is cultivated over a lifetime, and we design with that in mind: our pieces are meant to be both loved and lived in, wearing beautifully with time and age as they take on the signs of a life well travelled.
Ti voglio bene is the cornerstone of our philosophy. In addition to being the Peter Nappi brand tag line, it’s a subtle visual element we work into each product we make—on the heel of a shoe, the pull tab of a bag, the lining of a jacket. As a brand, it is what we aspire to promote in everything we do, from the products we make to the relationships we build.
My wife Dana and I were wed at Our Lady of Pompeii in New York’s West Village by an Italian priest. Weeks before the ceremony we spent time talking about the true meaning of love. The conversation came around to different ways of saying “I love you” in Italian. There’s the t’amoversion of I love you; which is the romantic form most people think of. And then there’s ti voglio bene, which implies unconditional, selfless love and literally means “I want you to be well.” We agreed this selfless love would be our goal in marriage. It has since filtered it’s way into all our relationships – be it personal or business.
Italians often use the abbreviated form, “tvb,” as a salutation and in their correspondence. It’s something we say to friends and family, to our parents and children and neighbors, to those who mean the most to us.
So when you see TVB on our products, in our signature or in the Studio, please know we truly, honestly, wish you well.
